smartwatches

A smartwatch is a computerized wristwatch with functionality that is enhanced beyond timekeeping. earlier watches were just for seeing time , but now it has totally changed.

A new revolution has been started in watches , and many companies have come up with different smartwatch with different designs.

smartwatches are effectively wearable computers. Many run mobile apps, using a mobile operating system.

Some smartwatches function as portable media players, offering playback of FM radio, audio, and video files to the user via a Bluetooth headset. Some models, also called ‘watch phones’, feature full mobile phone capability, and can make or answer phone calls

Here are some branded smartwatches which you can go for..

apple watch

Apple smartwatch:

The Apple Watch came out at the end of April 2014. it was the first product without steve jobs.

The Apple Watch is  available in its  three different models, two different sizes, and six different finishes, all with a range of swappable bands. The digital timepieces are priced (Rs.32900/-)from $349, £299 or AU$499 all the way up to $17,000, £13,500 or AU$24,000.

it seems like a ipod nano strap to your wrist. But it’s far more advanced than that. It’s a device that can act as a wrist companion for all sorts of things: fitness tracking, communication, phone calls, Apple Pay, wireless music playback, and a lot more. But for most of those functions, right now, you need an iPhone nearby that it can pair to.

many of the current apps feel like shaved-down “lite” versions of the larger apps in apple watch, at best. Yes, there are thousands of them. But, these are all going to get updated very soon. In the fall, a new WatchOS 2 software update will allow full-featured apps that can live natively on the watch. Until then, know that current third-party apps mostly feel like a letdown.

ultimately its a nice looking and enjoyable watch ,with good functionality.

moto smartawtch

Moto 360:

It’s been over a year since Google launched Android Wear. However, the platform has failed to take off in a big way, currently holding just 11.3 percent of the global smartwatch market,  having shipped around 720,000 units in 2014. The original Moto 360 was the clear leader among the various Android Wear models.

Motorola evidently wants to build on the success of the 360 and continues to push the idea of smartwatches with the Moto 360 (2nd Gen), which starts at Rs. 19,999. This new smartwatch is a lot like its predecessor, but has a few key changes that should improve upon the previous model.

Motorola has now launched the new Moto 360 which starts at £229(range from Rs.19k -24k).

Pros

  • Improved performance
  • Sharp screen
  • Good set of watch faces
  • Straps can be changed easily
  • Moto Body app is excellent

Cons

  • Screen isn’t truly round thanks to sensor bar
  • A bit expensive
  • Poor battery life

the device serves as a companion for all Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets which run Android 4.3 or newer

the samsung galaxy gear ranges from Rs.15k – 22k (221$-324$) .there are various variants , so you can now checkout which best suits for you and your budget and choose.

sony watchsony smartwatches:

The Sony SmartWatch, also called MN2SW, is a wearable device that connects to an Android smartphone and can display Twitter feeds, SMS, among other things. It is compatible with most Android phones. The watch uses a flexible silicone wristband with multiple colors available.

The Sony SmartWatch 2, also known as SW2, is a wearable device launched in late September 2013. The SW2 supports working together with any Android 4.0 (and higher) smartphone, unlike Samsung’s competing Galaxy Gear smartwatch, which only works with a few of Samsung’s own Galaxy handsets

At IFA 2014 the company announced the third generation of its smartwatch series, the Sony Smartwatch 3.[4][5] Its processor switched from previous generations’ ARM Cortex-M MCU[6] to a ARM Cortex-A CPU.[7]

The SmartWatch 3 has many new features such as waterproof (IP68 rated, not just resistant), improved styling, transition to Android Wear, and introduction of a new wearable platform from Broadcom. This is the first Android Wear smartwatch based on the Broadcom system-on-chip (SoC) platform which includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.2 GHz Quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor, an improved GPS and ambient light sensor processing SoC (BCM47531) capable of simultaneously tracking five satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, QZSS, SBAS, and BeiDou), the now popular Wi-Fi 802.11n/BT/NFC/FM quad-combo connectivity chip (BCM43341), and a highly integrated power management IC (BCM59054).[8]

Apps that allow GPS Android Wear standalone mode:

Pebble

pebble smartwatch:

The Pebble Smartwatch is a smartwatch developed by Pebble Technology Corporation[18] and released in 2013 that received the majority of its initial funding via the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. The watch features a black and white low power LCD, a programmable CPU, memory, storage, Bluetooth, a vibrating alert motor, a magnetometer, an ambient light sensor, and an accelerometer; these extend its use into many roles including interacting with smartphone notifications, activity tracking, gaming, map display, and golf tracking.

its cost range around(Rs.10k -24k)99$-354$.Pebble Technology Corporation raised $10.3 million through a Kickstarter campaign running from April 11, 2012, through May 18, 2012; this was the most money raised for any product on the site at that time. Best Buy, an American consumer electronics corporation, began selling Pebble smartwatches in July 2013, and sold out within five days. On December 31, 2014, Pebble sold its one millionth smartwatch.[5] In 2015, Pebble launched the Pebble Time and Time Steel with Kickstarter, raising $20,338,986 from over 75,000 backers, breaking records for both on the site. On May 24 2015, Pebble Technology released Pebble Time, the second generation of the Pebble smartwatch, and on August, released the Pebble Time Steel. Their third generation, named the Pebble Time Round, was announced on September 24, 2015.[20]

The Pebble Time Round, the thinnest smartwatch ever made at just 7.5mm, had a round screen, making it look more like a regular watch. It had the same hardware as the Pebble Time and Time Steel, albeit with a smaller battery to accommodate the smaller frame.

news: now that most Android Wear smartwatches including the Moto 360 2 support WiFi, you’ll save battery on your smartphone as you won’t need to leave Bluetooth on all day.

conclusion :

user can buy the smartwatch depending upon their use ,budget and  the smartphone which they are using .all this smartwatch are branded and looks good , at the end of the day it depends on the user which one they wanna buy.

nokia: the era is back

A happy news for all nokia lovers, the era is coming back, yup u listened right ,the era is back.

it’s contract from Microsoft to not use nokia brand name ends with 2016, so its expected to come back after  end of this year.

and its expected to come back with an andriod smartphone , anyway its not confirmed about its realese.

Nokia  is hiring software experts, testing new products and seeking sales partners as it plots its return to the mobile phone and consumer tech arena it abandoned with the sale of its handset business.

Once the world’s biggest maker of mobile phones, the Finnish firm was wrongfooted by the rise of smartphones and eclipsed by Apple  and Samsung . It sold its handset business to Microsoft in late 2013 and has since focused squarely on making telecoms network equipment.

Now Nokia Ceo Rajeev Suri is planning a comeback. He must wait until late 2016 before he can consider re-entering the handset business – after a non-compete deal with Microsoft expires – but preparations are underway.

The company has already dipped its toe into the consumer market; it has launched an Android tablet, the N1, which went on sale in January in China and days ago unveiled a “virtual-reality camera” – heralding it as the “rebirth of Nokia”.

It has also launched an Android app called Z Launcher, which organizes content on smartphones.

Meanwhile its technologies division has advertised on LinkedIn dozens of jobs in California, many in product development, including Android engineers specializing in the operating software Nokia mobile devices will use.

CEO Rajeev Suri told Germany’s Manager Magazin that Nokia Networks will seek out manufacturers to build Nokia phones from mid-2016, when Microsoft gives up control of the brand name.

“We are looking for suitable partners,” Suri said.

so guys you have to wait till next year for the nokia smartphones .the era is preparing to come back …

apple iphone7

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to include next-generation A10 processors

Apple may stick to 4.7- and 5.5-inches, or take the opportunity to further refine screen sizes, shifting the dimensions somewhat to match the company’s design vision for the updated phones. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are expected to feature the same 3D Touch feature introduced with the iPhone 6s.

Apple is rumored to be aiming to make the iPhone 7 as thin as the 6.1mm iPod touch, mainly through the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack. Eliminating the headphone jack will give Apple more internal space for other components, and Apple will also keep the device slim with the continued use of in-cell panels and TFT-LCD display technology.

Along with Lightning-equipped EarPods that will be made available with the iPhone 7, Apple is rumored to be working on a new set of wireless Bluetooth earphones that would be sold alongside the iPhone 7 as a premium accessory and alternative to the EarPods.

The iPhone 7 is expected to be thinner than the iPhone 6s, with Apple using the elimination of the headphone jack and advances in in-cell panel technology to make the iPhone 7 slimmer, perhaps as thin as the iPod touch. Rumors suggest the iPhone 7 will be between 6.0mm and 6.5mm.

Appleinsider says that the relocated 3D touch chip might not necessarily point towards a new and updated version of the feature on the next iPhone. The site points out that Apple is indeed likely developing new versions of 3D touch, especially for the iPad

Conclusion

The choices on offer in the iPhone range at the moment can make choosing a handset difficult, especially when the internet is awash with rumors about the release of the iPhone 7 next year in September 2016.
